Amir Alexander, a product of the house scene, is no stranger to house music. Being a DJ since the late 1990's and having focused strictly on production since 2006, the man is now starting to come through with some utter gold. The last few years have seen him pair up with the likes of Hakim Murphy and also release on labels such as Anunnaki Cartel and New York's Plan B Recordings, where he returns to now with three dusty house trax. "Channeling" kicks things off with a sullen, funky bassline and intricate swings of percussion backed by distant piano keys, whereas "Deep Banger", as the title suggests, is more of a straight-up house jerker, and "Nocturnal" fuzzes things out with its growling bassline and eerie background atmospherics. Wonderful and not to be slept on.
